Everyday we have an opporunity to think and deeply express our gratitude in different ways. Gratitude is not a verbal expression but it is a heartful gesture of appreciation and gratefulness for having that relationship, where we derive comfort. To be honest, we are struggling in this world because we have lost this principle. We can set up hundreds of social and moral standards, but if they do not change our heart or cannot touch others heart, it is useless.

When we speak of others it should not be limited to only humans. To consider the objects of the world from one's pleasure point of view is the grossest type of ignorance. Unless one can see everything and himself as a part of the Supreme, there can never be peace. We are not controllers or supreme enjoyers, we are co-operators and enjoy by being enjoyed in a way that the Supreme Being desires.

The modern world is a symbol of failure. We are witnessing a senseless and an uncontrolled greed that is driving the world. Treatment of cows and killing them for food is such a terrible act. Everybody who eats meat knows that he can well survive on a vegetarian diet easily. This is because he is seeing people who are living happily by doing that. What is the use of talking Green and saving the planet but killing our own consciousness. We are trained in this world that enjoyement means to enjoy things for our pleasure. But people with higher consciousness teach us that living means to know how to serve and cooperate. Every ungrateful act forces us to act ungratefully and become more greedy. We lose the kindness and cannot hear our own hearts.

To serve and protect someone who has given their very life as a service by providing everything is our duty. Only a hard hearted human can kill such beings for satisfying his demoniac tongue. If we have not yet developed such a feeling for love for all living entities it is not the fault of the creation, but it is the problem with our own heart, which is being  controlled by the uncontrolled greed.

O Lord, who lends me life, lend me a heart replete with thankfulness. --William Shakespeare
