How to achieve pure mind ?
What does it mean to have a pure mind and how it can be achieved in this world ?

The mind is like the mirror and soul is the actual person. Conscious force, the athma is you. And the mind is like the mirror that you are seeing through when the mirror is full of dirt and full of dust, what will you see when you look in the mirror Dirt, Dust and everything else. You don’t see yourself who you are and what you need. You see only dirt and dust.
When you clean the mirror what do you see, you see your self. You see your relationship with the supreme self. The only thing, which is keeping us from realisation of our own eternal deathless nature, is the dirt in our mind. So how to clean up the dirt in our mind. It is explained in all the great Scriptures and also by all the great teachers. One should stop putting any more dirt on your mind that means live a pure life. According to Srimad Bhagavatham there are 4 pillars of sinful activity that pollutes the mind. Sex outside marriage, intoxication- taking various types of drugs or alcohol or other such substances just to infatuate the mind with unnatural condition, gambling and causing violence to others that means also eating meat, fish or eggs which is violence. So if we refrain from these 4 irreligious activities, we are not throwing so much dirt on our mind. To cleanse the mirror there is a simple formula.

To chant the name of god, name of god is the spiritual sound vibration. It is the pure sound vibration. Chanting the name of god Lord Chaitanya explained
ceto-darpana-marjanam bhava-maha-davagni-nirvapanam
sreyah-kairava-candrika-vitaranam vidya-vadhu-jivanam
anandambudhi-vardhanam prati-padam purnamrtasvadanam
sarvatma-snapanam param vijayate sri-krsna-sankirtanam
The name of God is a transcendental spiritual vibration, which very quickly cleanses the mirror of our heart and our mind. And awakens the eternal blissful nature and recognition of our true self. So that’s why we are called Hare Krishna Movement, clean the mirror of our mind by chanting the holy name. And there are many names of God and all these pure authorised names of god have the power to cleanse the heart if they are chanted in the proper mood of service and devotion. We chant

And we have seen when our Gurudev went to western world in 1965. He appeared in this world in 1896. I would like to tell you little something about him, which is there in my mind. For my own purification and also it will be nice for all of you. When he was young man he was initiated into the parampara of great saintly people Goudiya Vaisnava Sampradaya which is teaching purely lessons of Bhagavad Gita. He was asked by his guru to take this message all over the world. So 70 years Old he had nothing he was living in Vrindavan. He was great scholar, translating Bhagavatham. And some how or the other he got enough donations, to print first 3 volumes of Srimad Bhagavatham. And when he went he got a free passage in a cargo ship called jaladhutta. In the ocean he had 2 heart attacks. When he came to Boston harbour and later he came to newyork harbour, He was wondering how I am ever going get the message of Krishna into the peoples heart; they are addicted to the every type of wise. And he prayed my lord let me just be a puppet in yours hands. Make my words penetrate their hearts. He sat under a little tree in a part in New York City. Someone gave him a little drum; here it is 70-year-old sadhu from India, in the same robes we are wearing today. In the middle of Manhattan Island of New York City chanting Harekrishna…. And people started coming, most are of your age, very educated, inquisitive. Looking for higher purpose of life. They understood material advancement does not bring happiness, Looking for something beyond. But these people from their birth eating meat, illicit sex, just most common and acceptable type of enjoyment. Most of the people were drug addicts, alcoholics, but just by chanting holy names of KRISHNA they gave up all these things. They became very pure and dedicated their life to service of god and humanity. That is the power of holy name, which we have seen with our own eyes confirming the teachings of all the great Scriptures, great saints. So by regularly chanting the holy name, and living pure and moral life, this is the process of making our heart clean. And with that clean heart take your education and take gifts whatever god has given you and use it as an expression of love.
