Minneapolis Kirtan Community aims at promoting the lifestyle of  "Sanatana Dharma", the eternal occupation of a living entity.  This lifestyle is based on the foundation of reality.  Also this lifestyle is neither sentimental nor sectarian but it is tied up to our original nature as a spirit soul.
  
Sanatana Dharma does not refer to any sectarian process of religion. Sanatana Dharma does not promote a particular faith, but promotes the principle of eternal service to the Transcedental Lord.  In this world no living being is exempt from rendering service to other living beings, and therefore the constant companion of the living being is his service. When this nature of serving others is properly utilized to serve the eternal Supreme Lord, one achieves in fact the real peace and happiness. This is also called devotional service.
  
The foundation of our modern lifestyle is based on a bodily conception of life and a false understanding of one being the supreme enjoyer. This results in conflicts, envy, and differences. Similary his constant companion (nature to serve others) is utilized to satisfy his selfish endeavors of being the supreme enjoyer (and thus exploit) though in reality only the Lord, the Supreme Creator possesses this supreme most quality. This false foundation is the cause of distress, stress, anxiety and ultimate frustration, which is caused by the interaction of spirit and matter.
 
 The sanskrit word "Kirtan" is infact synonymous with this eternal principle. It means to glorify. When this kirtan is aimed  towards the eternal Supreme Lord, one infacts situates in his original constitutional position and floats in ever-increasing ecstasy.
 
 Minneapolis Kirtan Community happily welcomes all indivudials to join us and come together to perform this eternal function of Kirtan in a spirit of unity. The effects of this can be very easily experienced as one is able to quickly transcend the illusory conception of life and situate oneself just like a lotus flower in a muddy pond of material existence.  
 
 
This website is a loving offering to please our Founder Acarya (one who teaches by his example) and a modern day saint,  His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, who by his deep devotion and compassion enlightened the world and re-established this eternal principle,  that  real religion and goal of life is to love all attractive Lord, Sri Krishna  beyond bodily and sectarian designations.  The following verse from a great transcedental vedic literature, Srimad Bhagavatam is the spirit and inspiration behind this website. This website is published simultaneously as our devotional offering and also for our own purification.

"On the other hand, that literature which is full of descriptions of the transcendental glories of the name, fame, forms, pastimes, etc., of the unlimited Supreme Lord is a different creation, full of transcendental words directed toward bringing about a revolution in the impious lives of this world's misdirected civilization. Such transcendental literatures, even though imperfectly composed, are heard, sung and accepted by purified men who are thoroughly honest "
